    Intutively I take it that "Default Dashboard Widgets" at Admin means whatever I choose there will automatically appear as such to new users unless/until they make use of "Edit Page". This just doesn't happen. Instead, new users are still reminded...
    • ""

      ==> Empty parameters being passed to the function ;-)

      means you don't care to specify whatever..

      function will take default it it has any.

    • Thanks, Dhrup, that's what I guessed. Now 2 doubts.

      1. Will the removal of " " cause any serious problem?

      2. Can you suggest some function (just for the sake of experiment) that can be safely substituted for the dummy function?

    • I went deeper and found out the significance of this.

      $body = elgg_view_layout('widgets',"","",$intro_message);

      If you remove the 2 pairs of quotation marks, the page will display the 2-column message in blue box which says you haven't made your page yet. If you remove one pair, the same message will appear in one column. I feel this finding could be useful for some purposes in future.

      I wonder which file contains that message.
