Thanks Brett, it's set to 644 and not 777. I don't know if it's related but the problem seemed to occure after a user name was changed because of a typo. I remember reading about this causing problems, especially if the user name has a space in it... view reply

This is what worked for me. Remove the 2 lines of code at the bottom of the .htaccess file under </IfModule> AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml .php3 .php4 .php5 .htm .htmlphp_value auto_prepend_file... view reply

RESULT :)) It's all working properly. The hosting company spotted that 2 lines of code had been added to the .htaccess file. I don't know which 2 lines but I've asked them to tell me (I'll post them here) and I've know idea how the 2 lines of code... view reply

I've had a response from the hosting company. The last time they upgraded/altered the server was over a month ago! view reply

lord55, I have looked at this and the other entries about missing images etc before posting here, nothing sorts the problem. My admin page is loading correctly - I hope you find a solution to your problem :) jekwumoore, I'm waiting for the host... view reply

Yesterday (25th Jan 2011) I discovered that all the images, including user profile avatars, on my live ELGG site had vanished. Everything else on my ELGG site works perfectly. The site has been 'live' for about 2 months without any other...

  The only thing showing in the error log for the past 24 hours:
  [Thu Jan 27 17:09:33 2011] [error] [client 174.60.129.243] File does not exist: /home/users3/eversons/www/eversonskaratestudents.com/students/administrator, referer: http://eversonskaratestudents.com/students/pg/dashboard/
  Though I think that has to do with the broken Mini Profile plugin link that I haven't fixed yet.
  We also did a file restore from 2 days ago and it didn't fix it, so it's nothing that I did in the files.
