Okey, i thought that the lines at the above links ( http://scot.ensci.us/GROUPNAME ) were complete and working.. my bet.
I'm pretty sure that Vazco has already written the code for this inside his vazco_url project. ( http://elggdev.com/vazco_url )
It would just require the use of both Vazco_URL and Jeroen Dalsem's rule (but adding another one to include the group path): RewriteRule ^([A-Za-z0-9\_\-]+)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/pg/profile/$1 [R]
Am I missing something?
