if you want to remove all friends related references from you Elgg site you could use the no_friends plugin, you can find it here https://github.com/ColdTrick/no_friends

ps: if you download the 'master' version (which you need for Elgg 1.8.x) don't forget to rename the folder in the zip/tar to no_friends

Our GitHub repository holds all plugins which we build, because there are so many we don't always have time to put them on the community.

Some are still in development and can't be released.

Some are older plugin which have been replaced by other plugins.

And so on ;)
