Hey everyone, so have hypewall on 1.12.4.  When I go ahead to post on someone's wall, it doesn't matter if the drop down is private, public, friends....the only person who can see the post is myself.  Any thoughts?

Any recommendations for making a native mobile app then until that becomes an option?  Or is the Web Services 1.8 really the only thing currently? view reply

Ok, I appreciate that.  I usually find things fairly quickly and easily and made sure to search quite a few ways to check before asking. For #2-I was stating that there are a lot of blog posts and pages that state the plugins you should have... view reply

Hey everyone! New to the elgg community and was trying to search around the web, but I'm not getting the same results I'm use to with socialengine community or wordpress, etc. So a few quick questions: Themes on elgg at times...
      1. Elgg has no functional distinction between theme/plugin. All themes are plugins.
      2. I don't understand what you mean
      3. Best to just look for the individual features you want that you feel are missing. There is no "Facebook-in-a-box" package, though such a thing could be possible in Elgg 2.0 if we manage to get Composer support in.
      4. No "Best of" lists.
      5. If the authors are being good citizens they will declare their dependencies in their manifest.xml file and the Admin panel of Elgg will warn you. But there's no way to force them to declare their dependencies. I hope this culture shift happens in Elgg 2.x if Composer support lands, and people start declaring their dependencies explicitly so that Composer can do most of the work of assembling all those things for you automatically.

For #2-I was stating that there are a lot of blog posts and pages that state the plugins you should have for your wordpress, socialengine, etc....that will give it the base functionality that the majority of people look for.  But you kind of answered that with #4 stating there was no "Best Of" lists.

How is the site http://blog.elgghacks.com/ and are there any others like it that are recommended?

Oh and last question, the REST API which I guess is the web services plugin.....seems to be limited to:

Are there any other REST API's or Plugins that will make it easier to make a native mobile app from your Elgg community page?  Thanks!
