When a user posts a blog entry on my community (using 1.61 with tinyMCE active) if they use say a youTube embed code or an object html code to include flash in their post, it gets stripped out. Does anyone know why and how I could stop it doing this...

Hi All - A user has pointed out an interesting problem with RSS feeds, they exist - and they can be queried (like when Firefox has a live bookmark it queries the rss feed) but services like bloglines don't seem to update with the rss feeds from elgg...

  I think there is a problem with how the RSS is being generated. I think the rss feed is using the time the information was created rather than the time the information was updated. That would explain why an RSS reader gets good information once and then fails to update after that.
  In Elgg 1.5, I looked into the rss files in views/rss and various mods. From what I could tell there were lots of references to time_created and not many to time_updated. I started looking into a fix, but have gotten derailed on that. My notes say something about time_updated not being set for all object subtypes. That would be where I start up once I find time to work on it again.
  Of couse, it would be good to check to see if version 1.6 exhibits the same behavior.

My site seems to be runnig smoothly but a couple of new users haven't recieved their validation emails, I've resent to no avail. Does anyone know how to manually validate on 1.6.1? I've tried a couple of methods found on here but they don't...

Is there a reason that annotations have a seperate access level to the entity that owns them? It's just if you edit an entity and change it's access level then any existing annotations may not display. Is there a way to change this behaviour or a...

I think I will go with the domain forwarding then, thanks, as while I'd willingly do it as a one off - it would be far too much effore to do it for every user that wants it. view reply

I'm making a custom input for the access levels for the blog tool - the idea is to take a variable '$access_id' which contains the users default privacy setting for their blog. (They set this in a blog settings page I've made which works fine)...
