Mostly likely bad .htaccess file. Try deleting it and copying htaccess_dist to .htaccess
@Cash,
That was the trick. Thanks!
One other question. I enabled several plugins one at a time without issue. Then I enabled all, and got this message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare new_index() (previously declared in /home/o111128/public_html/peach/mod/SWnavigationImage/start.php:11) in /home/o111128/public_html/peach/mod/elggThemeC/start.php on line 14
Yeesh... Fixes?
I deleted the elggThemeC directory in my mod folder and it all worked...
I'd guess that it is the .htaccess file. Anything after the ? in the url is being dropped. Can you replace the current one with what's in htaccess_dist and see if that fixes it?
I opened both files, but I'm no codehead...

I put both files in here- I'm honestly not sure what to look for, but at first glance it looks like the files are not identical.
I tried copying the .htacceess file from one of my working elggs to the one I'm having the issues with, and it appears it's solved my issues.
Can you give me a nutshell version of what you think may have gone wrong? I'm trying to get to the point where I can figure this stuff out solo. Thanks for the tip!
Looks like you upgraded Elgg without updating the htaccess file. Some changes were made in 1.7.2. The changes were at the end of a few lines near the bottom: QUERY_STRING is missing
