I would simply like to change "Groups" to "Home" in the top menu. Can anyone help?

@Trajan - I have already tried to translate Groups to Home, but it does not react. Strange since i can translate other menu words ?!?

When I translate Group to Home, I can't even find a single place on the Elgg where it says Home instead of group, not just in the menu.

Could that be because Groups is a plugin? Does the plugin have a en.php file that loads after your changes, reversing them?

maybe u should change owner and group of directory /data/ to "www-data"

There are many reasons why PHP may not be able to write to a directory beyond ordinary file permissions.

These include open_basedir restrictions and SELinux restrictions. Unfortunately the details tend to be server specific, so you may want to ask your hosting provider.

two months ago, i installed 1.6.1 on the same server and it works well. but now 1.7 edition with the error. so maybe have other reasons.

Please report this to the trac system, so that developers will consider adding the feature.
