thanks IK, I tried it but didnt seem to have the right plugins for it to be working on my site, so tried the below 1.7 plugin instead, and after a bit of mucking about with the deprecated code it works fine... view reply

do any of the video plugins for 1.8 allow posting video links from youtube.com sites within the message body, like where I am writing now? The only ones I keep trying seem work as a seperate Video menu and pages. I am just after the abiliity to...

In my 1.7 site admin got regular daily emails to tell them there are unvalidated users on the site. Dont get any notification in 1.8, all other notification seems to work ok. Was it a plugin did this?

  Yes. Elgg core never did that.

  need advice on editing custom index page, I have html, css,image and java script folder ready, , but i am not sure how do i work with css, javascript and images.

I deleted \views, it does suggest to do it in the guide link I posted above, but further down near the end of the instructions. I did it before uploading the 1.8 version. what is baffling me is why updating the plugins is what is resolving the... view reply

@ Ismayil - works perfectly well, I just removed the validation link that gets sent out, and adjusted the text of the email to advise the user to wait 24 hours for processing. thanks for the idea ! view reply

@Ismayil - cunning, I like it, thanks for the idea @ Ray J - only seen 'user approval' mentioned in discussion pages so far no plugin, if you recall the plugin location let me know, and I will double check your plugin version, thanks view reply

FYI despite fixing those I still cant see anywhere to change the settings for spam throttle, but that's for your other thread I guess not this one view reply

@Matt Beckett still remains a mystery that one, I had to update your plugin to fix it. I just dropped it in again to replicate the errors I get, they are as follows, there are others too, maybe I downloaded the wrong version of your spam throttle... view reply
