I described difference in cti_me.txt (in czech language ;-)).

In short:

preklad_pro_elgg_161 - translates only en.php files

modifikace_elgg_codu_161 - translates some texts which are hard coded in elgg.

this was my original idea. But as you pointed I made mistake and both directories contained almost same code.

This is great. A neat thing that should be done is the ability to set river items in the river to friends only. In my case, I use Vazco's mainpage, and that basically sets its own river stream different from the riverdashboard itself. Even if you change the relationship types in riverdashboard's start.php file or set the relationship in the list_river_items() call to "friend," it doesn't work. A fix for this would be pretty useful.
