are you using a theme that is overriding the topbar? if so look for that file in the views of the theme
As Fusion said, try and clear the cache and/or move your theme up to the top so it reflects the changes.
Thanks, guys. That was it. It was another plugin that was overwriting it. Thanks for your help.
@Ron the security notification you're seeing is because we self-sign our certificate. The details of the notice should explain what this means. Trac is for Elgg core and official plugins distributed with Elgg. 3rd party plugins have their own support strategies and it's best to read the README or homepage to figure out who to report those to.
This problem has been corrected in commit [3450]. See it at https://trac.elgg.org/elgg/ticket/1196
(The ticket is still open because there is still a bug in disable_entity(), but the registration errors have been correctly by this commit.)
Brett, thank you. I look forward to finding more bugs (better yet, let's call them gems cause when we find them it makes elgg that much better). I'm not a heavy hitter programmer, but I am a 38 year veteran businessman and perfectionist, so at least I can offer a perspective. I will be happy to share what I find and participate in this venture. Looking forward to being part of the elgg family. You got something good here. Be proud and go foward with energy and vigor.
