  Not testeted but you could try putting it up on
  /views/default/canvas/layouts/two_column_left_sidebar.php/
  or
  /views/default/canvas/layouts/owner_block.php/
  
  If you already have a template, make the changes there, rather than the core Elgg codes.

this is my modified version of the register.php in views\default\account. You can modify below line 54 " " and insert whaterver you like, it will appear at the right hand side as the reg form appears... view reply
