Thanks for the response. Annoyingly it's one of those errors that you can never get to happen when you want to - it's pretty intermittent, so possibly not much use looking at the site. Unless you're wanting a look at the code or database? If so just let me know and I can forward relevant bits.

It will help to look at the site, register, login, create group, create a discussion...etc.. so that I, or anyone else looking at this, get a feel of what exactly is happening even if we try more than once.. This would be the only way for me, or anyone else I would presume, to identify the potential code problem.

So, before we even get to that, lets see if it's the groups plugin.. I would go to my admin tools, disable groups, delete groups from my mods folder, then re-upload a fresh groups mod into my mods folder, enable the groups plugin again and test. That well most likely tell us if it's something in the groups plugin. If so, we need to look at it and narrow the possibilities until we figure out the exact code that needs to be fixed.
