Thanks for forking our plugin and your interest in contributing. We are on tight schedules now. We have plans to upgrade all our plugins to 1.9.
May I know what issues the current version of plugin has with an elgg 1.9 install?
Hey Team Webgalli,
Thank you for your reply. That's good to know. As far as I looked, I don't see issues, but I only have an Elgg 1.8 site. So, I could not test it on 1.9. Which is where my concern started.
Meanwhile I also read your reply here, about forking active plugins. I did not look into GitHub yet and didn't feel the urge to do so, basically because I'm not sure I won't be wasting your time. I think I added useful features, and I've still more inspiration than time, but I may be doing a lot of stupid things too. So, the idea was to release the plugin here, and wait for feedback before looking into pull requests at GitHub.
Knowing your perspective and your plans to upgrade, I think perhaps it's better to work the other way around. So, I forked Shortcodes on GitHub now and added the changes. I found the pull request button too, but I'm not sure how to handle it. I added the copyright notice and license to treat your work correctly, but you can ignore this.
I hope it helps and good luck with the updates!
