    By the way, after I have concluded the initial registration of the admin user, I get a clean white page. Even with error messages switched on it still is white   view reply

    Ok, I have switched off the "submit anonymous statistics" option and then I got prompted to register an admin user. I registered, got he mail and confirmed. However, when I log on the user does not seem to be an admin. How come? And how can I change... view reply

      Tough to say what's happening. What address is to directing you to?

      The same problem. It started after I've tried to install another elgg distr to my site. First I have installed elgg 1.7.1, but after conflict with the theme I chose, I decided to install elgg 1.6.2 to another directory. I created another MySQL DB.

      When I have visited my new site, I saw the start page from previous site (why? the folders and DB were absolutely different)... When I have delete the first site, the second became a "white page". And so on after dozens of reinstall!

      I feel that the problem is silly, but I can't find out what to do. Please help.

      The answer is simple - don't make the same "upload" folder for different elgg installations.

      Now everything's fine.
