You made your databse corrupted. The best solution to offer you, is start everything from the beginning again. 

Next time

1. Dont edit core files
2. Dont edit the Database yourself.

This plugin may help remove the empty pages from the members tab: http://community.elgg.org/plugins/438616/1.4/database-validator

But it propably won't fix your database completely. If possible, restore your database form a backup instead. Or start with a fresh installation as Team Webgalli suggested.
