You have to create a page handler for "editprofile". You can then
After that, you can show this link anywhere on your site.
Custom page handlers are indeed what you need. Here's some documentation to get started:
Thanks Juho.
Problem is very likely caused by a bug in a 3rd party plugin or usage of a 3rd party plugin not compatible with the version of Elgg you use (e.g. not compatible with Elgg 2.0/2.1) or not using the latest version of Elgg core (i.e. latest 1.12 or 2.1 version of Elgg).
If you are not using the latest Elgg version (either latest 1.12 or 2.1) update Elgg core. If the issue is not fixed then, check for outdated plugin (either update such plugins or don't use them if they are not compatible with the version of Elgg you use). If you're not sure what plugin causes the issue, disable all 3rd party plugins to see if the issue still appears (if yes it wouldn't be a plugin issue). If not, enable the plugins one by one to find out the problematic plugin.
There's none that I know of but I could be wrong.
Can certainly be done though
A few weeks ago, I included a new Facebook tab bar style top and bottom on the new version of Facebook timeline theme for elgg 2.x. I have not released the new version on community yet because I was having final exams and I am still having a few parts on the theme left to be finished. Hope to finish it by tge end of this week.
I've done a number of "event" type implementations for clients, they all want something different. There's no single best way to do it, so you end up with a number of differing plugins that focus on different aspects of events.
So I would say no, it doesn't make sense to combine them, because it's just as problematic removing unwanted functionality as it is adding missing functionality.
