I have a site based on Elgg - which is using the River Addon theme to give 3 columns on the main site and uses Mobilze to create the mobile site. My problem is that Mobilize goes not give the navigation tree for pages (which is the main content...

  There's no other way to switch themes on mobile without using another library. You have to use/create a plugin in order to detect if the user is on a desktop or mobile or doing any sorts of customizations.
