Daniel, if you agree, I can add this code as a separate widget in the comm version of vazco_mainpage plugin. This way you won't have to do this modification once a new version of vazco_mainpage comes out.
it would be nice to have a plugin like that for the default setup.. i mean, not everyone cares to use vazco paid products (no offense intended).
