thanks for the update; i'm wondering how to create a folder? is there a way other than uploading and extracting a zip file?

In the sidebar where the folders are listed there is a button "New folder"

  • hmm, i am not seeing an area where folders are listed.. maybe i need to move the position of the plugin in the plugin list

  • ah, i needed to clear the cache.
now i see the folders and folder area..
    i notice the following issues:

    1. dragging files onto folders or onto the folder name in the folder list box in the sidebar does nothing. (in chromium - linux).
    2. the edit page that is displayed when editing files that already existed before i activated file tools does not include a dropdown to choose the folder.. new files do.
    3.  file/folder breadcrumbs could be integrated into the main site breadcrumb & breadcrumb is not shown on edit page for folders.

so presently i have no way of assigning pre-existing files to folders.

  • ah, it needs to go after file.. i was confused by the messages in plugin manager due to the file plugin being called 'file'.. lol

  • so after moving the plugin priorty, to be after file, in the plugin list moving files to folders now works for me..

i notice that when i move to folders in the main view, the highlight box in the sidebar view doesn't update.
and folders only appear in the 'mine' tab, and not the 'all' tab.. is that how the plugin is designed to function? i ask because i have a line in my theme startup to change file uploads to admins only.

    thanks

  • @ura soul

i notice that when i move to folders in the main view, the highlight box in the sidebar view doesn't update.

This is a known issue, will be fixed in a future release

and folders only appear in the 'mine' tab, and not the 'all' tab.. is that how the plugin is designed to function?

This is by design. There are no site folders only user/group folders so we can't show a folder structure on "all files" tab

  • i see, ok; site folders would be useful.. i'll remember to assign files to groups on my site then.

    thanks

  • I have istalled your plugin and then I run upgrade.php script to clear cache an got follow error:

    ----

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND md.name_id = 106 AND msv.string = md.entity_guid)' at line 1

    QUERY: CREATE TABLE file_tools_fix AS (SELECT md.id FROM elggmetadata md JOIN elggentities e ON md.entity_guid = e.guid JOIN elggmetastrings msv ON md.value_id = msv.id WHERE e.type = 'object' AND e.subtype = AND md.name_id = 106 AND msv.string = md.entity_guid)

    ----

Seems that upgrade script assumes that the plugin has been installed before, so it repairs or cleans the previous data in database.

Is it a bug in your upgrade script?
