  • Excellent plugin Jerome, thanks for your work, I like how you make the plugins.

Now I'm finishing my learning developer, then'll help a little.

Forgive for my English, is google.

1.8.8 At the moment works well

  • Very Nice, thank You!

Just one newbie question: How does it work to create Folders and Subfolders?

Just one newbie question: How does it work to create Folders and Subfolders?

Go to your files or group files and in the sidebar you should see an option to create a folder. If you wish to create a subfolder, go to the folder you wish to create the subfolder in and create a new folder.

  • @ Jerome: Great, works like a charm, thank You!

  • I've installed and activated it but I can't see any buttons in the side bar... in fact there doesn't appear to have been any change at all to the interface. Any ideas?

Have you check the settigns of the plugin??

  • Never mind. After installing it, the "enable folders" options is still turned off. Under Administrations > Settings > File tools, you need to change "Use Folder Structure" to yes. Then the side bar options appear.

  • Jerome and chance to integrate with a Google Doc viewer something like this?

  • Thanks for your good work. I've plugged this in and enabled site wide categories and all seems well but when the picture is uploaded into default folder the picture does not diplay unless it is downloaded. What do I have to enable. As I would like the users to enjoy creating sub folders to house there pictures and to have a bit more control over files. Or is it stored in a zip nature, hence no thumnail of the picture?

  • Sorry, school boy error, I'm using 1.8.8 Elgg without not much else plugged bar freind request, drop down on members and groups. I'm trying to keep it as native as possible cos' of gumbee users... Apologies...

  • Hello,

I just installed your plugin. thank you. But is it normal that i'm not able anymore to put a description when I upload a file ?

Can you tell me if it's possible to put the folder (same folders as in 'mine' tab) on 'friends' sidebar tab ?

    Thank you

  • @petro:

Correct, if you wish to add a description goto the file and edit it.

Can you tell me if it's possible to put the folder (same folders as in 'mine' tab) on 'friends' sidebar tab ?

This isn't possible by default, if you wish to do this in a custom theme you need to add the view file_tools/list/tree to the sidebar. But this could be some work.

  • When i upload photos by this plugin it not recognizes them as a "photos" and as a result don't create thumbnails and don't display them when i use filter "Display photos" at the all files pages.

Where i need to put a fix?

  • I am on Elff 1.8.8 and used version 1.0 of this plugin and had trouble as I could not create subfolders.

There was a tree in the sidebar and a link to create a new folder but that did not seem to work.

I now upgraded to the latest from GitHib 1.1.1 and now the whole tree view is gone completely.

I tried disabling and activating the plugin and turning the Tree view off and on, etc.

I have no idea as to where to look to get this to go or analyse this any further.

    Any pointers?

  • After a bit more digging I found the 'New folder' link again but it seems to have a JS error:

    1. Uncaught TypeError: Object function (a,b){return new e.fn.init(a,b,h)} has no method 'fancybox' elgg.1355452385.js:2532
    2. elgg.file_tools.new_folderelgg.1355452385.js:2532
    3. f.event.handlejquery-1.6.4.min.js:3
    4. i.handle.k

  • Found the problem :-) had the 'colorbox' plugin enabled. Not sure why that was there though.

  • Mmhm. Colorbox is needed by Lightpics Photo Gallery :-(
