Thank you for the plug-in. I have been playing around with elgg and also with your plug-in.

I noticed that, after activating your plug-in:

1- I can not see anymore the routine activities (profile updates etc) of the non-friends. This is good.

2- I can not see anymore the routine activies (profile updates etc) of my friends either. This is not so good in my opinion. Am I doing something wrong (I checked personal settings but...)?

Assuming that my observation is correct and I am not overlooking something with settings; a best-of-both-worlds would be better. That is: I should be able to see the routine activity of my friends but not that of non-friends. As it is now, it is another extreme of showing everything.

Even better, it would be great, if this plug-in allowed individual users specify what routine activity can be seen by which level (private, friends, logged-in users, etc).

@Burdada - thanks for the comments - you are correct, the activity is set to ACCESS_PRIVATE so that only the owner (the person who did the action) can see it.  This is by design, as this plugin is meant to make Elgg comply with the privacy policy set forth by Athabasca University for their installation.  AU is my employer, and they funded this plugin for their purposes, but they are very good about allowing their plugins be shared with the community.  So you are correct that it is very single-function but any additional functionality would most likely have to be added not on their time.

That said, the AU plugins are all being hosted additionally on my github account so the community can improve on my work if necessary - and it shouldn't be terribly hard to add in such options.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your efforts and Athabasca University to share their code. It is good to have an alternative to Elgg behaviour and this plug-in does that. @SteveAquila - Yes this is different, you still have the "all" tab but you can't see peoples friendships/relationships etc, you can only see content creation and object related updates
