What do you mean by Big Blue Button server? Thanks.
It's for BBB 0.8 or 0.71 ?
Thx
Hi Simon,
Where do I configure the URL of the BBB server? Is it in bbb_api_conf.php? Thank you for your help.
Simon, your plugin shows de security salt of the bigbluebutton server. Of course the admin must know this, but not every user who starts a webinar...
I agree with you, but you have not well tested, only admin could see it.
Did you check with a user account without admin privileges ?
Hi! I have installed the last versión of ELGG Release - 1.8.8, and i have installed the plugin Webinar, all works fine, i have a working installation of BBB in other server, y have the URL and the SALT, but when i tried to Join the Webinar it only says "Server BBB not responding" do you know if i have to configure any port to accept connections in my BBB server? I can see in the admin dashboard of ELGG that in Webinar plugin configuration i can configure the user password and admin password after the BBB url and Salt, i can set any password? or i have to get it from my BBB server? Thanks a lot.
Hi!
On BBB side, you should use bbb-conf tool to check your parameters: http://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/BBBConf
Admin and User's password are not relevant, there are just options given to the API.
I have implementing them but they are not really meaningfull. All users are connetcting to the webinar with admin privileges. In order to use them we should define who must be a Webinar Admin or a simple User.
Hi Simon, As you noticed i was using it only with my admin user :-). It is working great for admin user but when a normal user tries to create a webinar it allways says "Server BBB not responding". If an admin starts the meeting or edit it, the webinar can start with no complains.
It sounds like if the user form, as is different of the admin one, is not working as it should. Thanks in advance.
I figured it out, if you need the fix, please tell me.
Of course, share the fix please ;)
@Nacho
Nice I will be pleased to integrate it in the repo https://github.com/bouland/webinar
How do you want to proceed ?
Thx,
Simon- Can you use "group tools" with this, to where the admins can invite and lead the webinar?
Is there any way you can explain how this plugin is supposed to work for the end-user?
I can not see anywhere that the links to start a webinar are implemented anywhere in the code by grepping for 'start'. for example.
Any sort of documentation would be useful.
Thanks
@dave, have you a bbb server ?
Did you configure the plugin correctly ?
Did you see the menu "webinar" ?
Sorry for the dalay... I will fork the github and make a pull request
I have submitted a new issue + fix to the code repository, I realized that non-admin users of closed groups couldn't create webinars...
I have a question for you, simon, when I monitor my bigbluebutton server, I can see all the users join as moderators... Have you planned changing this?
Regards
bjr Simon,
Tested on 1.8.9 and works great. Is there a way to record the webinar from elgg?
lu
hi guys,
I installed the plugin to my fresh 1.8.12 install.
I can connect fine to my BBB server BUT, when I create a webinar, the salt and URL are not those I wrote in the plugin parameters, I have to change them manually.
Any idea ?
Great plugin. It seems like still group admin can not start the webinar, only site admin :(
@nachopavon , what was the fix for the same problem you reported?
Thanks.
