Hi,
Even with this new version I am still having difficulty getting playback to work on iOS devices (iPhone / iPad).
Here is a public example:
http://odyssey.bendigochurchofchrist.com/file/view/53/newbunny
I get the following error:
"The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported: http://odyssey.bendigochurchofchrist.com/file/download/53/bunny.mp4"
Note that this is different to the error that I got with the pervious version. The previous error didn't include the last part of the filename (eg bunny.mp4).
Has anyone had any success using this plugin to play videos on an iOS device?
Thanks
@stoz. Yes, you're right. Although .mp3 seems to work fine. I have discovered what's causing this, let me look into it to see if I can fix it.
Cheers!
how do ya find the mod folder?
Any luck with iOS video playback yet Rip?
You said that you discovered what was causing the error, could you let me know what you think the problem is so that I could have a look into it too?
Thanks,
Stos
Hi Roger,
I've made some minor tweaks to this to make it a bit more extensible - basically some optional integration with embed_extender so that uploaded audio/video can be embedded elsewhere within the site.
You don't have a repository listed so I don't know where I can push changes for review. I've got it on github here: https://github.com/beck24/veeplay
Please check it out, I think it's worthwhile functionality.
@Matt Thanks Matt. Sorry, I've had some personal issues to attend to, so haven't been around for a while.
@stoz IOS won't accept a virtual video link. At least thats is how it is manifesting it with me.
Hi
@matt it just works for audio files as mp3 but mp4. I've tested both veeplay from github or plugins page. What could I check in order to make it work?
Thanks in advance!
@Rip: What are you doing to improve on this wonderful plugin. It should be able to have a separate page to display all site videos.Ability to play other video formats will do good.

Hi,
Flash files are not woring in this player.. please help
I tested mp3 on Firefox 18.0.1 + Safari 6.0.2 (Mac OS 10.8.2) - doesn't work.
- all media plugins disabled
- File plugin above veeplayer plugin
I really need this functionality on one of my Elggs. I hope the work continues. This could be awesome.
@@ BrianF, Its playing fine for me. please try on fresh elgg installtion where you don't have other third pary plugin. I am Still on 1.8.9
Hey thanks saurabh ! I'm guessing you use Mac as well.
If it works on your end it should work on mine, now I know there is hope. Thanks so much !
I should add, I'm on Elgg 1.8.12
I tried plenty of things but still not able to put the embeded video on a blog page directly without the need to click the icon.
Is someone got an idea please?
@ BrianF, you need to give more detail please see if any error.. As I will not able to help without any error. Just in case did u disable all Media plugin. Before you tried it. I did not test this on Mac. but for firefox its working fine.
the deFaulT zAudio plugin is flash based so dont play on mobile devices Like iphone or blackberry that dnt support flash.I hope with the html5 and jw player capability it would work.
version 6 of jwplayer is available - has anyone upgraded veeplayer for that?
if not, is anyone planning to?
i may look at this soon if no-one else is already.
http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/28834/migrating-from-jw5-to-jw6
this plugin should be the easiest way to add video/ audio files to server if some of these little issues are treated.media should play on mobile devices like mp3skull.com does.
i notice matt's version of this is no longer available via github.. anyone have an updated version of this code !?
i updated the 2 java script files from jwplarer for this, would love for this plugin to be updated : )
just tested i can confirm veeplay only plays mp4 files tested flv and 3gp did not work though avi may work have not tested yet. ''tested on 2 different online servers''
