just one thing...Can you please explain how to configure Birthday as i am not using profile manager.... how to set metadata..???

@Brahm Dutt, I am using a profile manager plugin in my site and every user had entered their birth date using the default date picker of Profile manager plugin while editing their profiles.

I made this river box of upcoming/tomorrow's/today's birthdays to make my members aware of who is celebrating his/her birthday on which day.

So how to configure that :

Go to views/default/page/elements/birthday.php and edit line no. 30 and 49. insted of 'birthday' (it the name given for the profile field of datepicker in profile manager) you should put your own name of the date picker... in profile managar..

• change 'metadata_names' => 'birthday', to 'metadata_names' => 'name given in profile manager for date of birth of members',
• change $dob = strtotime($birthday_member->birthday); to $dob = strtotime($birthday_member->name given in profile manager for date of birth of members);

Works perfect!!! Thank you for sharing. Only issue I have is with the ads rotator. The "control bar" only shows up on "The Wire" page. I've actually disable most non-core plugins and the EasyTheme which I am using. But I'll disable this until I can track it further. Thanks again!

Also no need to edit the birthday.php... you can enter the name given for the profile field of datepicker in profile manager corresponding to the birthdays in Plugin Settings.

@Satheesh... Your hard work and advice is much appreciated. Here is a screen shot of my activity page with the default elgg menu still present. Also can you tell me how to reorder that same sidebar so that the Status widget displays at the botom?

1. u r using a diffrent theme.. IN that theme there may be a view to show this elgg menus in sidebar... Tell me the theme you are using and i will check..
2. To lower status widget you need to change a number (priority) in start.php see the line : 25 elgg_extend_view('page/elements/sidebar', 'page/elements/site_status','700'); change 700 to 810 that will load status at bottom of all widget..

1. Not using any theme... I changed the elgg default background image, which may make you think a theme is being used... so I need to disable the default menu for the activity page. Any idea how to do that would be great.
