Hey there, awesome plugin! Recommend but a bit of a concern, when a user logs in from facebook the user's profile does not show. Can you take a look at this please?
Hey this does nothing to prevent spambots from coming in this way.. it's a gREAT idea but I need SPAMBOT protection on new accounts... AND ...
HOW DO YOU LOG IN WTIH THE CONNECTED ACCOUNT IF YOU DISABLE THE CONNECT SOFTWARE? CAN YOU? I've tried the passwords, and both usernames and emails and I cannot log in to my site manually off of a connected account, ONLY standard accounts.
How do you KEEP a member who has used this after you turn the connect off due to spambots?
Hi,
I've started a thread in the forum, I didn't realize I could talk about it here, sorry.
Thanks for sharing your work!
hi Buddy~~~ I encountered a problem called
"This plugin has unmet dependencies and cannot be activated"
How could this happen?
Hey,
be sure to deactivate the OAuth plugin. That should fix it.
Know, here is mine: How can I avoid that a user uses different login methods (e.g. Facebook and Twitter) and each time a new user will be created. Is it possible to check if this user ealready exists and/or a short message will be shown to use always the same method?
Maybe a user profile field should be done for every auth method. When the user enterd an additional info into those fields he can be identified.
Until then I am looking for a plugin for merging users.
BTW: GREAT WORK!! I love it!
Elgg Social Login 1.0.5

ok
PLEASE!
HELP!
Hi,
i have installed and configured the plugin for few providers, actually, facebook, google, yahoo are working fine, AOL is enabled but not tested, cause i dont have an account, but i am confidend is going to work.
Unfortunately i am not able to make the twitter authentication working, i have seen that the Twitter API: Authorize URL is changed from https://api.twitter.com/oauth/authenticate to this https://api.twitter.com/oauth/authorize
So i changed the URL in the Twitter.php of HybridAuth to match the new URL, but no joy with it.
I still get an error code 5 in response from Auth server: Authentification failed. The user has canceled the authentication or the provider refused the connection.
Anybody has been able to address this issue?
Thanks
Hi All,
You can test this plugin on http://elggsocial.ektasoftwares.com/
I have created a demo site for this plugin. Miled please let me know if you change the plugin code any time I will update the same on my server for better results and latest demo of this plugin.
@federunix - I had the same issue, once i removed the hypeframework plugins the social login worked.
Go through your plugin list and disable the 3rd party plugins one by one as it may be a conflicting plugin.
@federunix and @MyTeenBlog - I had pb similar to you but deactivating the hypeframework does not change anything.
Social login for 1.8 works with twitter, but in the cas of linkedin, I got this message :
"Something bad happen !
Authentification failes. The user has canceled the authentication or the provider refused the connection "
@Miled - Is there a way to obtain the real error message (I mean the one returned by linkedin) ?
Note : my web site use ssl, and rewrites all requests to http in https. Could it be the origin of the trouble for linkedin ? It works with twitter.
@chetan : could you please show us your plugin conf ? I tried with your site and linkedin, it works.
thanks
My version :
Elgg version 1.8.1, Hypeframework and all other hype plugins downgraded to 1.8.1
Hi,
i have a problem with image uploading... it seems it can't open facebook url, or download image...
The only result is having blank images in data directory
I seem to be having an issue with the plugin. A popup appears and then it redirects me back to the login screen within the popup. I have all my credentials in place properly. What can be causing this? Any ideas welcomed
I'm also having thee same problem as dbrighi. The user's facebook photo does not import. Twitter & Google+ do.
Cannot activate plugin has dependencies.

Your language:

i am using elgg1.8.8 and elgg social plugin 1.0.6

Hi,
I configured the Facebook and Google accounts. When I try to login, the last URL redirection is mounted like the link above, as one can noticed, with the port replicated two times (8888:8888). If I delete one of the ports of the URL, everything goes fine and I can login into the site. Who is responsible to put the port (in my case, 8888) into the URL?
http://localhost:8888:8888/elgg-1.8.3/mod/elgg_social_login/authenticate.php?provider=Facebook&redirect_to_provider=true
Regards, Fabio
I used the plugin - but I can not see the images of the facebook etc.
I just resolved my problem with the replied port (8888:8888) above. The problem was probably because I was using a localhost instalation. Everything worked fine at the real host site. Tks
