Thanks Plugin :) ,
sending all user of site may be in spam problem???
@Liang Lee
Sometimes you have to reach all your users. Could be you need to inform them about downtime, change of terms, seasons greeting, and things like that.
Same goes for group owners.
That kind of messages is not spam, but information.
it sends email to the users?
@imoni
As the description says, it sends notifications :-)
can u show image where the notifications are showed?
@imoni
Well, it's fairly standard stuff as the notifications ends up as messages in the users inbox.
If you ever received a messages from another user then you know what these notifications looks like.
oki got it, but it didn't work. I send the notification from admin panel but no notification recieved from user account. I tested it on localhost elgg....
most likely it doesn't send to admin users. Check with a normal user.
@imono
Just did another test, and both admin and users got the notification. Could have something to do with the fact you're running it on a localhost, but I don't know.
Check your notification settings, chances are you have it set to email and your localhost isn't configured to send email. Set it to "site" and you should get the notifications.
is this a cron triggered like sends mails in 5min cron?
A great plugin really it will be useful for all elgg users.. thanks a lot friend.
I added this, made sure localhost settings were on site mail, even test user, and when I sent, I got the red message "Make sure you fill out the subject and content" I did, and user still never received the message. Any suggestions?
Have many other plugins installed... but for some reason I cannot even UNZIP the download correctly.. comes up with a bunch of errors like it is trying to write over files or something?
Anybody else have that problem?
Works very well on my site so far! Love it!
Plugin installed with no issues (1.8.3). Tried first site message. Added subject and body of message and sent. However, does not appear to be showing up in mailboxes of users. I know normal messages are working, as I also sent an individual message to a user and that one arrived. Is there a long delay between sending the site message and it arriving in the users mailboxes?
this is awesome, but why remove the images?
so if member users' settings are set to send messages to site inbox only and not email... then they will not receive a message?
so if, for example, i wanted to send a message to all members, including those who do not login and do not get email notifications of new messages.. as in.. say, once a year, an overall update message to everyone on the network, including those that don't visit very often....
this plugin is not going to help me?
@ura: u mean like that fcb's ' URA, you have notifications pending...' emails ?
ah its ok, i just found another plugin called mass-notifier: https://github.com/pjotrsavitski/Mass-notifier
which sends directly an email to all, regardless of notification settings; as far as i know at present.. i haven't tested it yet.
@slyhne Very useful. Thanks!
and for those who want a simple way of modifying notification settings for new and/or existing users:
