What you can do to help:

Allows bookmarks to be hierarchically organised into folders

Last updated

This is a quick hack based almost entirely on Jerome Bakker's excellent File_tree plugin, mostly not a lot more than a search and replace on 'file' with 'bookmark', with a few tweaks here and there to cater for differences in how files and bookmarks work in Elgg. I've also slightly simplified it so that it is *only* possible to use this in addition to the normal view, not as a replacement - that would have added layers of extra complexity and we had no need for the plugin to take over from standard behaviours.

It lets you organise your bookmarks (group and personal) into folders and, like file_tree, lets you set permissions for enclosed bookmarks and even delete them en-masse.

It will not work properly with less than Elgg 1.7.8, though it's not too bad, depending on your needs and standards: it still functions for the most part, including dragging and dropping, but is missing a control or two when editing links. It has been tested up to 1.7.11.

If you don't like the styling, change the CSS - see Jerome Bakker's original File_Tree for further info, at http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/project/655971/developer/jeabakker/file-tree
