Warning: This plugin has't been updated in over 55 years. It may no longer be maintained.
What you can do to help:
Allow users to login into Elgg site using a Google Account using OpenID. When active, this plugin extends the "login/extend" view to show a "Login with Google" button to let users to use their Google account to authenticate.
This plugin needs Php's Curl library to work correctly.
The plugin uses LightOpenID Library (http://code.google.com/p/lightopenid/)and is based on "Facebook Connect Login for Elgg 1.8" plugin from Chetan Varshney (http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/release/797592/developer/chetanvarshney/facebook-connect-login-for-elgg-18)
Usage:
Just install the plugin on the mod library, activate it on the extension manager and configure if login/registration with google account is allowed on the plugin settings.
Notes:
The plugin looks for the email as its primary user id, so if a user with a given email address already exists the plugin will attemp to authenticate it and if not it will attempt to register a new user.
The information fetched from Google is: Fisrtname, lastname and email
As always please feel free to use the plugin and modify it as needed. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
