How do I get application Key and Application secret?

Hi @Manasi here is the url

go on to this link and click on apps under top menus and create a new application.

And make sure you have entered your website url in "Website I want to allow people to log in to my website using Facebook." for login with facebook.

And write down app Id and Secret code.

To change the data displayed on Facebook after synchronization, have to change the file facebook_connect / lib / facebook_connect.php in the lines:

140 (for Spanish)

145 to change the logo especially for facebook

146 to change the description of the site

  I cant figure out how to create a facebook app. I read through their instructions,but that only confused me more. Its there any step by step instructions on this?

Is there any chance of this either being adapted to work on 1.7, or could you possibly give some pointers on how I could do that adaptation myself? I'm working on a client site where the theme requires us to use 1.7 and we cannot upgrade to 1.8 without recoding the theme.

There are plugins already for 1.7.

None of them work just how I need them though. I\ve tried all the 1.7 plugins I can find and I think they all use the old FB API and not the Open Graph because I can use them to login just fine, but they do not import any of the user data (not even name). I figured that because this plugin is more recent it will use the most recent API, so it would be great if it could work in 1.7.

If you know of a plugin that works in 1.7 and does in fact import all the user data then please let me know.

simple qustion

install is 1.8

i installed the facebook connec plugin (which is great)

i want to alter the my basic profile fields

i will rewrite the main fields like name, email same wording as is on the standard profile

does this mean the facebook connect plugin will still copy across the same data and i will have no problems.

(facebook connect copies across profile pic name and e-mail)

even if you answer you don't know means i'll just go ahead and test it

Works great on 1.8!

I used this plugin, but as soon as i enbled it  following error came.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function elgg_register_event_handler() in /home/easalive/public_html/mod/facebook_connect/start.php on line 3

And site is not responding. Any body have any idea to fix this error.

i use elgg 1.8.1

after a new user logs in, next screen he confirms login via facebook, and the screen after that it tells user that site want to also post on their wall, etc... if you decline, it will display this error

@Prieto: it asks for the "publish_stream" permission so that it can post to the user's wall when they first sync their account:

Joe Smith just synched his/her facebook account with My Site Name.

As the plugin doesn't properly handle the "Don't Allow" user action (and I don't like posting to the wall for this purpose), I'm removing the "publish_stream" permission request and commenting out the POST api calls and plugin hooks created by default. I'd like for this to be a plugin option, but I don't have the time to code this now.

There is something wrong with the pluggin. After registering, the user can`t see there profile and I can`t see there profile. Even as A admin.
