theft: the felonious removing of another's personal property, with the intent of depriving the true owner of it.
using computer sourcecode in ways which the author of the code does not prefer is not the same as theft.
violating a license using computer source code in ways which the author of the code does not allow, would be considered stealing........ie taking money away from the author to use the code in the way allowed would be considered stealing, aka theft
1. no money would be taken away.
2. if you explore what money actually is, you will find that, at least in the area labelled usa, money is actually an instrument of debt. thus, mathmatically, and technically, you are free-er and more liberated financially if you have no money. thus, even if point 1 were reversed, the truth is that nothing has been taken.
money makes enomy
in technical sense of the words you are correct. but if you do not pay for the plugin, or change it in a way that is it not licensed to be and take away the advertisement space of the dev. Then you are STEALING. I dont want to pay $10 to watch a movie, so its ok to download it off the internet? Nope, its considered stealing.......ask Napster and tons of other p2p software creators. Not saying anything about you URA, somebody asked and you answered, just saying its wrong for a user to blatantly disregard the use of a plugin license because he cant afford it and everybody else does it.
the issue is not that people desire to have 'stuff' for free. the issue is that people have hoarded for centuries and ignored the need to heal and balance and instead carried on as if battle and struggle is the only way life can be on earth. you can't steal what is free, all is free until we state otherwise. we state otherwise due to delusion.
anyhow, i have no more desire to continue the conversation.
wow !!! whattta load of cwapz just becoz uras wants other people to give him $code for $0 free !!!
it is not free if there is a stipulation in the license, if you modify the art and label it your work or infer it is your work by the lack of the label, then you are plagiarizing
by the way, so you know plagiarizing = stealing and in case you didn't click the link above, here is the
Definition of PLAGIARIZE
@ALL Be careful - FreiChat suffers from a remote shell upload vulnerability !
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of uploaded files in the script client/plugins/upload/upload.php. The remote user can to download a file containing PHP code, and execute it on the system.

request for help i am just stuck now
Hello,
I have successfully installed your plugin (ver 1.6) into my Elgg (version 1.8.8). I have followed your steps as described on your website and copied the code into the elgg header file. Everything works perfectly offline (using wamp server to emulate my website).
However, when I do the same steps to install the plugin on my online version (zone911.net46.net) hosted by http://www.000webhost.com/ it doesn't work. The installation is done (without any errors) and the plugin is activated but the little chat window and the chat room button are not showing (even if you are a registered user).
I have gone through the above comments and through your video, but no answer as of why it is not working online when it is perfeclty working offline.
Would you be able to help me with this? Thanks!
@Samle : If you are following the install informations strictly, there is no need of copying any code.
@Bhavin : try http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/White_page
Thank you for your fast answer.
Following exactly every steps in your video tutorial, at 1 min 30 sec you press the "Manual Installation" button. It shows a pop up window with code to copy and paste on the beginning of the elgg header file.
Nowhere in your steps it is said not to click on this button and not to copy the code (which seems like an obvious step when you follow the installation process). So should we follow the video or your steps?
Furthermore, if I remove the code I pasted into the header file, I got a blank page on my website and I can't access anything. I did read the link you proposed to @Bhavin, but nothing seems to work except if I put the code back in the header file (Strange...)
Nevertheless, both the chat window and the chatroom button are not showing up on my website...
@Samle : the video is not from us. Its a community member contribution. You are supposed to follow the install info available in the plugin's home page.
