If by 'types' you mean access collections - that is a core function accessed through the friends page at  [url]/collections/owner/[username]

It doesn't replace the friend picker, it's a UI improvement for managing friend collections and notifications

oh ok, i thought that friend collections were managed by friendpicker by default - so figured it would be replaced.
