Recomended I have some questions:-
1. Where it stores an uploaded image?
2. What happens to image if we delete blog?
3. How can I show uploaded image in index widget instead of owner avtar.
one bug found if comment o then it display <span>(0)</span>
Other wise it is working great. Keep it up.....
Thanks
One more thing, what is special if we select featured blog post?
I don't understand how to feature a blog either. could you please explain how that works? i clicked on the feature link but nothing happened.
Where its store an uploading image ?
@ghumanz:
in dataroot with the user who is the owner of the blog
this should be cleaned up, but this doesn't happen yet. Will be fixed soon!
set the index widget to 'preview' mode instead of 'listing'
thanks for reporting, will be fixed soon
You can configure the index and profile/dashboard widget to only show featured blogs.
I will change the listing of all blogs so featured blogs are shown first (or is seperate tabs)
@Jerome Bakker Thanks to answer all my questions in detail.
For featured blogs :-
Try to show slider of featured blogs or latest 5-6 blogs on index page. Then it will be best plugin for blogs.
Good luck and thanks again.
@ jerome Bakker I checked the seting area but no preview option is available for widgets in blog list every thing is neat and clean , for your information please take a look into below snap shot of seetings:-
hi I'm goin to try this but I have several questions.
1. I use my own custom index so how can I call for a featured blog post there?
2. I really didn't get where does the image get stored, so...any examples of an elgg site for structure?
3. Does this expands the blog mod or replaces it?
4. Thanks! :)
Image upload question is already obove please read all answers above by developer.
I am also using custom index so you can copy code from index widget to access feature of that but in current version there is a bug.
Blog are totally changed after that you can check these on my live site.
http://www.royalloops.com/pg/blog/all/
I know it is already above...that's why I said I didnt get it quite well and needed an example of the structure, but alright I think I'll figure it out.
About the other questions... Index widget is that a plugin?.. and if it has a bug, does it work even with that?
You didn't answer clearly about the blog mod. Does it replaces the original?
btw, this tool really looks good! :D
NO need to replace the original place it below the original blog plugin these are work together. if you remove the original then it will not work.
thank you, I'll sure will check this mod
@ghumanz are you using tools for blog other than this? I dont get the image aligned like your site or the categories... how did you manage to do that? All I get is the image but it looks like this:
http://www.graficacolectiva.com/pg/blog/all/
@Cynthia Lara I fixed your site layout by run upgrade script please check now, all are look alike mine.
lol you know whats funny, I did run upgrade before o.o
But I had to restart my computer and now it looks ok! Thank you :) And what about the categories and stuff? :O where to set this?
@ghumanz:
You need to check the edit part of the index widget. I will add some screenshots
@Cynthia Lara:
you need to copy some code from /mod/blog_tools/views/default/widgets/index_blog/view.php
It is stored in dataroot (check site settings) and then in de Elgg file structure with the user who wrote the blog post. If you need more information about the data structure check http://docs.elgg.org
It expands it, so you need blog enabled and blog_tools enabled just below blog.
@ghumanz:
what bug? If you could please report and bug on GitHub I can easaly track them. Otherwise leave a comment here.
@Cynthia Lara:
the index widget is just a a profile of dashboard widget. However in order to use it you need a plugin that can handle index widgets (like Widget Manager)
Hi this may sound nobbie hehehe…...again :P
Is it a way to avoid displaying the text in blog widget? like..just showing the img, author and title?
@Jerome Bakker I figured it out everything seems in a good shape. I did not found any bug in it.
I want to share some more things with you. It has some js and some tiny pics for fancy box, which increase the js number and number of headers, lead to slow little bit, is that really need. I know facybox is looking great but effect on performance.
Some more suggestions for to do list:-
1). If possible to show some related posts at end of each blog post.
2). If possible to show slider on index page of featured posts.
3). Featured posts only selected by site admins, not by content owner.
Except these I did not found anything for now. BTW this was most awaited plugin for elgg.
Plugin is affected with this bug http://community.elgg.org/pg/forum/topic/661881/empty-title-and-contents-when-editing-blog/
@Igor Nuk:
This is a problem with the preview/draft functionality of Blog. As my plugin doesn't touch this the problem remains. It's not a problem of this plugin.
In Elgg 1.8 de preview/draft functionality has been dropped.
@Jerome Bakker When we can expect this plugin for 1.8?
