also.. some error in adding location...the plugin looks amazing though
@rockitzza - it took awhile for my initial location map to pop-up the first time. Seems to have accellerated after that, perhaps because the connecction information is now cached.
@bpreston: in mozilla it works awesome...some problem with chrome I guess...doesn't get any map views...is the map search working for you?
one more error comes when you try to rsvp from the drop down...it does the work, but an error page comes -
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://mysite/action/event_manager/event/rsvp?guid=3204&type=event_attending&__elgg_ts=1308329263&__elgg_token=393e9f2b26a85ad206423bd673bf2048. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
@rockitzza - it did seem to behave a little odd at first, but the second time it landed me correctly. I blamed it on my browser cache. The second event I added worked fine. I'm also using Firefox, on linux. 3.6.17
I recieved the following error when trying to RSVP as well
Fatal error: Call to a member function getGUID() on a non-object in [site home directory]mod/event_manager/classes/Event.php on line 222
All errors are happening only on chrome...firefox it is working great...browser compatibility issues suspected? i tried cleaning my cache and then again do it...not useful
My errror occured oon firefox 3.6.17
Seems to occur when selecting RSVP -> Attending . Selecting Presenting did not generate the error.
I am also using the same firefox version...so far no error for me on firefox...(ubuntu 10.10)
@roxkitzza - where have you positioned the plugin in your tools list?
I'm on fedora 14, on this machine, will test on a few others. Seems to be something to do with the registration page, not sure what yet.
i positioned it at the top..it started working in chrome too...but still the chrome error for rsvp- attending is coming...
Mine is at the bottom, but when I looked at the code it became apparent that it was a function of the notification, turned that off and no error. I'll try moving mine to the top and see what happens. I have a ton of plugins active in this test rig, so I would not exclude an obscure conflict either :)
plus the migration is not working from event calendar to here...
Still quite good for an early release of something this cool!
I managed to recreate the error's on WinXP (firefox 4 & IE8 ) , Konqueror, Chrome and Firefox (3.6.17) on fedora 14 and Firefox and Chrome on Fedora 15. They manifest a little differently on each web browser - firefox throws the error but processes attendance. The others seem to hang on the URL without throwing an error, but also process attendance.
could be a good alternative for buggy event_calendar. l ll test it soon.
;-) Be polite, PlZ not say "buggy" in referencen to Kevin's Event Calendar. It may have had some issues, but is still a pretty very good PlugIn. But this new thnag Event Manager has caught my eyes curious too. I had been working on a new Calendar myself (Global Scientific Online Conference Calendar) for a good friend in Amsterdam - not quite finished yet. But this one looks quite interesting. I hope Rick keeps expanding on the features. He is quite welcome to contact me for any code related assistance that he wants ;)
Hello all, thank you so far for testing the Event Manager.
I will check every error you find and fix it asap.
And yes, new features are coming soon.
I kepp getting this message
"This web site needs a different Google Maps API key. A new key can be generated at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html."
Even though I have done it...what should i do?
@Scope... put the newly generated key into the box in the Plugin Settings (on the plugin in the plugin tools)
I did that and I still keep getting that message. ;(
