does this work on 1.8.3?
It should, as this version is specifically developed for Elgg 1.8
does it works with 1.8.5
It's so hard has it seems, have one simple button wich approve any comment anywhere?
Nice addition to the comment section. Any idea how difficult it would be able to include "reply to comment" with a possible quote option? Then in addition have a threaded view of comments.
a threaded comments plugin already exists, i don't know if the two word function well together or not
this appears to work in 1.8.8 - though when i post comments there is a page reload.. i'm not sure if that is by design or not.
that addition would be very helpful. :)
thanks for sharing, as all-ways
same for deleting comments
actually hypealive already does the ajaxing of comments (deleting is not presently in there)..
but hypealive appears to use its own comment storage.. and over-rides the effects of this one.
having the features of the two together would be ideal for me.
goes for me to ura, would love to see either plugin that worked that way, or a combination of the two
i was just pointed to webgalli's ajax comments plugin.. which works great. :)
the only remaining minor issue is that the new comments are posted to the bottom of the list regardless of the sort order that is set in advanced_comments.
I still have plans to add live commenting (including deletions), but at the moment i will await the release of Elgg 1.9 which should have some changes to the commenting system (which also should allow for threaded comments) More info here: http://trac.elgg.org/ticket/2146
Would be far more useful if it worked for groups... Or should it be?
@chris i agree, but forum topics are not the default comments and this plugin only replaces default comments.
looking at commenting on other sites, there are many useful features that are missing from elgg.
the guardian website has many of them, for reference:
www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jul/10/boston-marathon-explosions-dzhokhar-tsarnaev?commentpage=1
combining this plugin with a more complete version of the comment_tracker plugin and then adding threads and neater/nicer labels/buttons would greatly improving commenting in elgg..
i don't know how much this type of feature is being added to elgg core, it really should be as far as i see.
Hi @Jeroen is there any way to get advanced comments to work in groups?
or is there any way to reverse the order of the comments that are displayed in groups?
