What you can do to help:

Plugin to update massive number of profile pictures at a time

Last updated

This plugin was developed to pre-load profile pictures for the users of the community. By doing so, we ensure that on the first access of a user there will be the user image and not the dafault one.

The way this plugin works is as follows:

  • Install the plugin
  • In plugin settings decide wheater if you want to overwrite user pictures (if already exists) or only update pictures for users who have the default one.
  • Upload the user pictures (jpg, gif and png formats supported) naming them with the  usernames (file extension on lowercase or otherwise it won't work) of the users that you want to assign profile pictures to "/mod/bulk_image_upload/tmp/" directory.
  • In administration settings select the link "bulk_profiles_images_upload" and click "assign images"
  • Depending on the number of images uploaded the script may take a while.
  • Done! .. the users must now have their own preloaded pictures with a simple proccess instead of assigning them one by one.

In future releases there will be an option to upload a zip file containing the pictures for your convenience!.. and ours of course :)

This is still a very rough plugin, but worked to assign 20000+ user profile images....

Hopefully, I'll resume development for this plugin on december-january 2010-2011.
