Erm...what's "Radius"?
Google always has an answer:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RADIUS
Hi Matthijs,
good to see you developed it yourself. I think this will be a good addon for everyone running an Elgg installation as an intranet site (and have Radius of course). I don't think you'll get a lot of response as the usage is a bit rare, but great you shared it!

To be honest I'm still none the wiser. Also doesn't Wikipedia have a reputation for being wildly inaccurate? It's certainly the butt of many jokes.
I read the Wiki and now my brain hurts...lol
Could we get a down-to-earth explanation please?
Nice explanation, not the plug-in for me though.
nice plugin. I am looking at using this for my school, Im developing an intranet for them and if all the active directory accounts where synced that would be really cool. The plugin doesn't seem to open settings for some reason.
@Mark
what version are you using? I've only used it on a 1.7.1 setup so it might be different in another version. The first thing that comes to mind though is that you must of course enable it first before you can enter the settings (but I'm convinced you know that). I did fix a problem today which I found out (well actually a clever guy from the ICT department found it) was due to an extra line break in the code somewhere. It should however not cause the settings to not show up.
@MRA - I've been doing some reading research into RADIUS. It seems to be in a similar league as OpenID and others. I thinbk I'll be downloading a (GNU) RADIUS Server to see how it performs - my idea is to correlate RADIUS's functionality to my on-going Federated Elgg WebSites http://connectmyschool.com. I had thought of developing a (working) Elgg OpenID server to serve that need OR to develop Web Services interfaces to allow the differenbt Elgg WebSites to "mingle" to share news, data, resources - but in a rather "closed" network.
