I just tried this out. It does not work on elgg 1.7.1. The bar appears at top of the screen and the bar icons do not show. Doesn't break the site though but does not work.

This version of ElggChat works fine - http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/Neo1975/read/497491?release=498875  -  so it is possible. Plus i prefer the dark version. Will check back to see if you update this plugin.

Working great in 1.7.1.  Is there a way to minimize the chat session without closing it out?

I see some lines in mod/elggchat/views/default/elggchat/css.php  but no way to minimize it...

The logic is a little weird, but comment out lines 73 of poll.php: //      if(is_array($friends) && count($friends) > 0){

plus the corresponding brace.  These lines are unnecessary.

This takes care of an error when a new user has no friends.

HI Sim2K sorry for replying late. I am using this plugin in 1.7 and it works just fine. you can see the working in www.ysrockz.co.cc. And lextrading got it working on 1.7.1 so i am not sure why you are getting such error. Please place the plugin at the bottom and then check.

thanks for the great plugin it works great on 1.7 just one little problem.  the text does not wrap properly some times?  anyway i can make it wrap automatically and not give me the scroll bar at the buttom

i found this line in ta css file:    overflow-y: auto;white-space: nowrap;   would i change the "nowrap" with wrap to make the text wrap so no scroll bar appears?

elggchat is a misconfigured plugin. It has been disabled. Please search the Elgg wiki for possible causes http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/

@zotek it shouldn't give that error.check whether you are uncompressing the archive file(.zip) inside your plugin directory.

To those who are having problem with this plugin, disable the plugin and go back to elggchat folder on your server and set the folder permission to 0755 and all the files to 0644 and try to enable the plugin again through your tool administration.

Just installed this plugin and it works for the most part.  It shows up on the site and the 4 extra buttons appear at the far right (although the Events, Videos and Photos buttons seem to point to plugins that I don't have and cause the homepage to load), however the chat feature isn't anywhere to be seen :-/  Is there anything I need to do to resolve this?  I'm using version 1.7.7...
