Configurable Profile is intended for programmers rather than end-users. It allows: define fields set, default options values,  default access levels, allows for admin to define list of fields with user-conrollable access, allows to group fileds,allows show/hide fileds depending on value of other filed(s).

Also this plugin redefine user profile rendering and allows its customization .
