@maslinux
This is just an iframe to connect to facebook inside of Elgg I guess?
Why to change the theme like that? you can easily add a submenu add link to it from anywhere else in the site.
I see the picture and code of your plugin, you take complete website content frome facebook to your site?! I think that´s not ok. What do you say if i grab your page, dear maslinux, as content in my page ;)
simple and nice idea
just can you tell me witch chat bar pluging you use in yr website? it seems nice
@Cube No, no code from Facebook, no one. It's just a link for view Facebook, that's so different, no code copy.
Anyway if somebody think that's not ok, i will delete the file. But I'm still thinking that's allright.
@Mas:
I have reviewed the code in this PlugIn; There's not imuch in there that implies "bandwith theft" etc.. etc..
If FaceBook has objections.. they will lock you out with about 3 lines of code ;-)
Why do you worry ? FBk Lawyers are not all that smart.. believe us.. we know them quite well. LOLZ ;-)
You go ahead... That's all alright...

@badr Elggchat 0.4.5
bandwidth theft is hotlinking to specific items. I don't think FB would care as a matter of fact they would probably like the idea. anyone wants to iframe any of our sites go right ahead I would even show you how to do it if you wanted.
I think this iFrame plugin is just what was being discussed in another thread some weeks ago when we were talking about the Customeyes plugin etc.
This plugin could be easily be adapted (but way beyond my skills) as an option for a group to use their website url to display their other website within an iFrame on their elgg site... or indeed an normal user if they have a static site somewhere else.
All that is needed is an option when they include a URL to their website in their profile to direct clickers of that url to be directed to the iFrame. Yhis keeps them and any visitors from leaving the elgg site. Neat.
Malaga Jack Right but you visit your FB profile or accepted friends.
@Mark, at al...
CustomEyes was developed by Master Malaga Jack - all within his skills.
This plugin has been blocked by the people at Facebook
toldya before --> " If FaceBook has objections.. they will lock you out with about 3 lines of code " ;-)
well there you go I guess they didn't like it
probably presuming you are throwing banner adds around there site
nah mostlikley they thought it was a bug trying to get peoples passwords
a black page apare under the frame when y clik on
y ll redirect to facebook
how to fix this prblm
This appears to be a straightforward iframe implementation. I am modifying the plugin for my own use. If it works, I will upload a generic form of the plugin with instructions for usage.
I would like this kind of plugin to be able to open my other websites in my elgg website. Any ideas?
hello
webnovice and all others

thanks
:)
I installed the plug ing and I have activated it, but as I it use?
@Serbe Leon - As mentioned above the plugin has been locked out by facebook (if this situation has changed please let us know). Chances are it was detected automatically by one of their security scripts and presumed to be an attempt to hack into the site (as implied by Tomas), that's why it's best to use their developer tools section (same goes for all other sites that provide such features) as a basis for any plugins or scripts, that way you'll have permission to access the site from external sources.
This plugin was a nice idea, but just too risque to be used ethically ;-)
So....is there currently any way to get a widget or some kind of view of Facebook Newsfeed listing in the Elgg site like the twitter widget does? It doesnt have to be interactive just show what is going on at Facebook
I am on elgg 1.7.8 for the record
How comes that every single project involving FB seems to be doomed??? i have been looking for hours to find something that works on a similar way or it just take the real thing and put it where you want it (as this app was doing before being blocked).
Any usefull info? thanks
