indeed
Great plugin, thanks a bunch, this really should be built into the elgg core.
Note to the newbies, if you want to change the logo search for elgg_toolbar_logo.gif and replace that picture with the one you want renaming the new picture to "elgg_toolbar_logo.gif. PS, this file is located in a few places, not just in the /mod/mobile directory.
Also after initial install whenever I navigated to the main page on my iphone and clicked on the logo it wasn't able to redirect me correctly since my elgg is installed in a subdirectory. Came back saying I wasn't able to access the server, yada, yada. To fix this all I had to do is open up /mod/mobile/views/mobile/page elements/ and edit the file header_contents.php, in this file you will find the redirect for the logo image, just add whatever you subdirectory for elgg is in front of pg/dashboard.
@mark, i got a good laugh (in a good way) when I finally stumbled upon ****shell.php. I'll be sure to get in touch b4 I go live. Only testing at the moment.
I agree that core support for handheld views would be nice. The first thing you can do is report the feature request to Trac (trac.elgg.org).
I like the idea of the plugin, but I haven't installed it yet coz I wanna be sure that it will work for the first time on my site! I'm using elgg 1.7.7. Does this plugin work without any problems with this version of elgg? I've read through the other comments but many of them seem to be using older versions of elgg and I saw some problems....I'm not a programmer so I can't help myself much :D I'll need some really detailed help.... Could someone maybe try it out with the version of elgg that I have and give me feedback?
Thanks a million!
It'll work in 1.7.7. Just upload the files and go to the admin pannel and enable it. Then just go to:
http://yoursite.com/upgrade.php
Thats it...
Hi all, Mark here (plugin developer). I've not had a lot of time to work on elgg recently but i wanted to let you know that I WILL BE updating the plugin soon. As stated above you can buy a pro version that has additional features for £250. Sorry about the wait
Sound like interesting if its is become free!
Hey Mark,
I am not a developer but have my ELGG site which I have created with help of friends and some professionals. My site has a customized theme. I tried installing your plug-in but it kind of disturbed the entire theme and the links were gone. Your plug-in is extremely essential for my requirement as most of my students are mobile and find it very difficult to download the regular site. Please suggest how I can resolve this problem
I used this plugin , every time when i login using mobile site, it just redirects to the desktop site. if i add /?view=mobile then only this site opens .. :(
someone else having the same problem? please give me a solution...
I'm having a different type of problem.. Everything is fine. But after login the mobile version will redirect the page to /dashboard not /dashboard?view=mobile .. what to do for that?
Can i Have this mobile version on a subdomain of the main desktop version.for example m.facebook.com
Install the plugin, create the sub-domain name and point it to http://SITE.TLD/?view=mobile
@stuartsloan, I have the same problem. I use 1.7.8 and the same, all works perfect but when yougo to the inbox, the message is here, but the content is "____________"
Any idea?
Thanks.
Is there any way to get shai_sitecode to work on the mobile register screen as we use this on our website to restrict registeration
Hi,
I'm running Elgg 1.7.9 and the plugin seems to function fine with one exception
When I open messages and select a message it shows the message From, Title reply button but no message content
Any ideas how to fix this?
Hi Mark, i hope you will find the time or a willing co-developer to make this great plugin work again!
I tried version 1.6 on elgg 1.7.9 with an iOS 4.3. I had the "too may redirects" problem solved by using a subdomain "m.foo.bar" towards "http://foo.bar/?view=mobile". But still I can't see any message bodies in the users inboxes and saw some strange effects on german special characters like ä,ö,ü.
Nevertheless, I am looking forward to be using this again one day.
Cheers,
henner

Good day, this plugin works relatively well in 1.7.8 but since I can not register the mobileand I can not read the email, if someone shares a solution would be excellent.
