Tips and How To's v1.0
Release Notes
This is a very simple plugin that will add a tips or how to's widget to the profile apps. It is pre programmed to have over 25 tips for the default elgg navigations and use to help the user become acquainted with using your site.
The edit the tips to match your sites language just open the following file and edit as instructed:
\tips\views\default\widgets\tips\views.php
To install just drop into your mod folder then go to your admin tools and enable.
I use this as a default profile app
I forgot to mention that everything is there if you wish to make tips a page also.

Another thing about this plugin I did not point out is that it is a very simple plugin. So simple you could use it as a template to build your own plugins. Just rename a few files and folders, edit a few lines of reference and you have your own template for what ever you wish to build.
Nothing seems to happen for me?
I unzipped the folder under mod directory and enabled it via tools admin. What is the expected behaviour? I don't see any difference. Maybe I missed something here. Appreciate your help!
@Daniel Jang after upload to your mod folder in elgg and enabling the plugin in your admin tools the plugin will be run as an app in the profile. You can set the plugin as a default app and it will automatically be set in the profile or dashboard. However if you do not do this the user will need to drag it into their profile or dashboard.
goofbucket - thanks! I am fairly new to Elgg, now I get it. Your template is useful indeed and easy to add more tips to it.
i set it as default but it did not work, i had to drag it on both my admin and my test accounts to the profile and to the dashboard... nice though i like it
Could have been a cache issue, should have set as a default plugin just fine... as this setting is not related to this plugin but related to "set as default" plugin. odd, remember it's a great template for plugins and is very easy to edit the content to match your site
how can we make this miltilangual? Thats the only missing thing? I can contribute with the spanish part if you like

@DJ.. hah ! i just looked at the code.. need to re-write a lot of the hard-coded text to use formal elgg lang ptrs ;;;-O

now it´s only show ones in the widget ...
then you must update you browser to get a new one !
