extends javascript.php file of profile plugin
Tested on Elgg version : Release - 1.6.1, Version - 2009072201
(Firefox 3.5.5 , Chrome 3.0.195.33 , IE 7)
** INSTALLATION **
* Unzip the file to the elgg/mods/ directory.
* Go to your Elgg tools administration section
* Enable Iconmouseovermenu plugin
* Make sure this plugin is placed below profile plugin!
**WHAT IT DOES**
* Icon usermenu apears on mouseover.
* And it disappears on mouseout.
**KNOWING PROBLEMS**
* Incompatible with user_status plugin. As alternative you can use online_mark plugin
* Incompatible with avatar size medium. Maybe bug in core design?

can you make it remove the title of the icon on hover? it covers some of the dropdown. makes it feel slightly awkward.
alfalive, there's a free plugin of mine somewhere here - the vazco_profileup. It has the same functionality as your plugin. I mention this just in case you would like to compare your plugin with my solution.

I did some changes to javascript.php only 2 or 4 lines and commented some lines of code

Menu apears -10 pixel from bottom and -10 pixel from right.
I do not realy understand what do you mean with cover of the dropdown... ?
@alfalive yes when you hover over the icon the username appears and SLIGHTLY covers the display of your awesoe plugin's dropdown. really it just covers a bit of the username displayed in the dropdown, but it is distracting and an attempt to mouseoff it soetimes results in the dropdown closing. its really very minor but it looks wierd.

Hi I found one problem by large images for example with event plugin. It doesnt work properly but I think it is elgg issue.
Now I tested it with opera 10.10 and arora 0.10.0

Group Avatar Menu is not planned.
Wich menu items do you want to use in it?
There is no group related menu like user menu...
@Blue tooltip appears when you hold your mouse more than 1 Second over the avatar. It is elgg.
My opinion we don't need this tooltip.

maybe we can just pin point the code change in the core necessary to make it stop. brb

If there are these poping up menu items for a group avatar, we needn't click the group avatar and then select a menu item. Am I right?

I'm glad to hear that you agree with me. I love popup menu, because it is vivid, handy and efficient. Perhaps there are other places which are suitable for such a function. Do you think it is a good idea that you develop a series of plugins like this for elgg and for us? Only a temporary idea, you judge it.
