[Elgg 1.5-1.12 & 2.X & 3.X: Tidypics] v2.3.6

Release Notes

  • Fix: edit album page access fixed so you can edit an album again,
  • Fix: redirect on create thumbnail admin action on calling page.
  • Hey! I just noticed that I am unable to get a result from elgg_get_inline_url for tidypics images - I am using the latest version on elgg 2.3. Any idea why that is? I get no data returned from the function even though a thumbnail file does exist. Thanks

  • Tidypics was already there long before the current Filestore API functions of Elgg were added (I think in Elgg 2.2) and it still uses its own functions to store and retrieve the image files. So, you can't use the Elgg API functions unfortunately.

  • I see, ok. What would be the most straight forward way to access a full url for a tidypics thumbnail? It's been a while since I've coded much relating to files in Elgg! ;)
I need the full URL to put into meta tags in the head for social sharing images.

  • @RvR- I did check that first, yes - however, the outputted URL isn't one that can be used in a metatag - it isn't a full url with a file extension on the end.

Also, on a tangent, I just clicked 'upload images' while viewing an album and got an error about not being able to load an ajax view directly.

  • We use getIconURL('master'); on our sites. It works for us. Look at this example (page source).

  • Ok thanks! It looks like the kind of url that is produced by that function is now working with facebook's page scraper. I'm sure that in the past they (or at least some sites) required image urls to end in a full extension for them to be considered valid. I'll test out this format with some more sites to see how reliable it is. :)
