Newest release of Tidypics with some bug fixes. No new features.
There have been no reports of incompatibilities with Elgg 1.7 so that's good news.

@rufuz - yes, that can be done. It would require some modifications to the embed plugin. I think this will be built into Elgg 1.8
@Tanz - you may not have enough memory allocated to PHP on your server
@lifeform - blank? If there is a failure, they should be question marks.
@Ron - have not had time to look into this yet. Once I do, I'll post an update on how long this might take.
@Tidypics Team
i just thought of a feature to include on your next version, you know how you turn on notifications for groups to email/message you when there's a new discussion or when someone replies to your topic? you guys should impliment this notification feature when someone comments on an image/album. what do you think? i personally prefer getting site messages than email.
@Tidypics - good news the embed plug will be likely adapted to tidypics! If I only had the skills, I would anticipate.. :)
again, keep up the good work
Hi great tidypics team, yeah it is a question mark... what could this indicate...?
would love to get this up running...
Is there a way to upload a picture without creating an album?
@lifeform - covered in documentation
@rjcalifornia - no
@TP Team -
First off - thank you for the amazing plugin! =D
Secondly, my team is creating a site where people can upload art. We would like to let them have the option of categorizing the art whenever they upload it, (like a check box stating "Digital, Painting, Sculpture....etc"). This way when people search for art, they can search by a category.
Is there a way to do this with Tidypics?
Thanks,
Floogin/CreativeHoosiers Team

@Ron - sorry for the delay. Using the latest from the 1.7 branch (http://elgg.org/download/nightly/1.7/), I was not able to reproduce the problem of images from different albums getting mixed up. I'm assuming right now that it was a bug in Elgg 1.7 that is(will be) fixed in 1.7.1. Haven't had a chance to test it on a clean 1.7 install.
It does look like Tidypics is limiting the RSS feed to only 10 images. I'll take a look into that.
@Floogin - we looking into integrating the categories plugin with Tidypics which might satisfy your need.
@tomchip - that should only happen if Tidypics is turned off or the subtype on the album object is incorrect
@Tidypics Team - I haven't tried the 1.7 branch you mentioned yet, so I can't comment on that, but I did want to clarify. The slideshow as I'm using it has 2 problems 1) images getting mixed up and 2) they are limited to 10 images - just like th RSS feed is limited to 10 images. Not sure if you understood that the limit of 10 images is BOTH for RSS fee and Slideshow. Thank you.
@Tidypics Team - Further followup re: slideshow/RSS feed. In addition to both the slideshow and the RSS feed being limited to 10 images, I find that both error in the same way, exactly. The 10 images are identical - including images from the incorrect albums. No matter what the configurations are, in every case the RSS feed 10 images are indentical to th 10 slideshow images.
Note also, that the title on the top of the RSS feed is CORRECT. It says the proper name of the album, but the images may be from another album - all depending on what multiple albums are avaiable, of course.
Further, if I select just one image and then select the RSS feed, the image and the album title are correct.
This error happens when selecting an album from the album page, either RSS fee or slideshow.
Not sure if this additional info is helpful, but I can tell you it is consistent.
@TidyPicsTeam? why not?
@Ron - I have confirmed that there is a bug in Elgg 1.7 that is causing the mixup in RSS feeds. It is fixed in svn so it will be a part of 1.7.1. The limit of 10 might also be due to Elgg 1.7 but we can release a new version that includes more photos.
@TidyPicsTeam - My guess is that the RSS feed bug may the be same bug for the slideshow, maybe not, but since they are exactly similar, it makes sense that they are.
I wonder when 1.7.1 will be out? Then we will know if the 10 limit for RSS and slideshow is fixed. I wouldn't think you would need to release a new version that would be fixed in 1.7.1. Anyhow, as soon as 1.7.1 is out, we'll jump on it and test it out to see what it does and does not fix.
I appreaciate your support, very much. Thank you.-ron
Hi ,
I'm having problems uploading photo's , I get an error that the bytes are too large, In my tidypics settings, size is set @ 6mb width 4000 *height 4000 and my photo's are 2.5mb each 3072*2304.
Thankyou
Does a function exist to get photos based on tags? I'm trying to use JQUERY sliders on my index page and would like to grab the latest images which match a tag. Also, when grabbing the latest images, is it possible to specify an image, for example, that i want the 3rd most recent image? Thanks.
Hi again, I have searched the error_log now and see a lot of these errors:
[24-Mar-2010 20:57:25] WARNING: 2010-03-24 20:57:25 (CET): "Missing argument 1 for ElggDiskFilestore::__construct(), called in /path to elgg/engine/lib/filestore.php on line 623 and defined" in file /path to elgg/engine/lib/filestore.php (line 156)
Line 156 says: public function __construct($directory_root) so maybe it has something to do with the place to save the files...?
I am using ELGG 1.5 with the following config:
PHP version 5.2.9 GD Enabled Elgg requires the GD extension to be loaded IMagick PHP extension Disabled exec() Enabled Required for ImageMagick command line Memory Available to PHP 512MB Change memory_limit to increase Memory Used to Load This Page 2.19 MB This is approximately the minimum per page Max File Upload Size 256MB Max size of an uploaded image Max Post Size 256MB Max post size = sum of images + html form Max Input Time 60 s Time script waits for upload to finish Max Execution Time 60 s Max time a script will run GD imagejpeg Enabled GD imagepng Enabled GD imagegif Enabled EXIF Disabled
(Also this plugin definitly block down all other site images when I enable it, but maybe this will be solved when the above error are fixed...)
here is my setup elgg 1.6.1

@Ron - I know 1.7.1 will fix the RSS/slideshow issues. We'll have to release a new version of Tidypics to do more than 10 photos in a feed. The underlying API must have changed slightly between 1.6 and 1.7 - different default value.
@djeph - you are probably trying to upload too many images at once given the settings you have on your server. Take a look at the server error log for more information.
@JKasting - the Elgg API provides plenty of functions like that. A photo tag is an annotation on an entity of subtype photo. You can ask Elgg for all photos with an annotation of phototag of [tag value]. If you need more help than this, you should take a look at the Elgg wiki and the image class in the lib directory of Tidypics
@lifeform - no, that was just a warning that existed in Elgg 1.5 but was fixed in Elgg 1.6. That does not affect functionality.
@Tidypics Team Is there a way to make a quickie upload like in facebook? I mean, without all that hassle of creating an album, etc...??
Here are the result of the test

@Tidypics Team - all of my thumbnail creations are failing... here is what the log says:

Ok
Should I upgrade to 1.6... ? I find 1.7 to have very little support for many of the other plugins we used in our site.
Is 1.6 a bit more neutral...?
A tip further to fix this...? I have read the 3 txt-files if that was what u meant with the documentation. Are there heavier / more detailed documentation anywhere to be found ?
