Pedro Prez did the initial photo tagging implementation. Others submitted language files. Look out in the future for some great new features from Torsten Wesolek (including a really nice slideshow).

Interested in working on the team. Let us know.

  • Good morning Tidypics Team,

is there any possibilty to mass-upload pictures (800 pics) at once?

Thanks for the plugin and best regrads from berlin,

    Charis

  • I got a question... These are my settings:

    TidyPics Server Analysis

    PHP version 5.2.9
GD Enabled Elgg requires the GD extension to be loaded
    ImageMagick PHP Disabled
exec() Enabled Required for ImageMagick command line
Memory Available to PHP 64MB Change memory_limit to increase
Memory Used to Load This Page 6.31 MB This is approximately the minimum per page
Max File Upload Size 5.00 MB Max size of an uploaded image
Max Post Size 8.00 MB Max post size = sum of images + html form
Max Input Time 30 s Time script waits for upload to finish
Max Execution Time 15 s Max time a script will run
    GD imagejpeg Enabled
    GD imagepng Enabled
    GD imagegif Enabled
    EXIF Disabled

Now they ask me to fill in the ImageMagick Command Line, but I want to use the GD Image Library. Does I have to fill this in?

  • @Charis: no, we would need some sort of desktop application like Picasa/Flickr have and that's not happening given the amount of effort/size of our team.

  • And is this plugin still a 10 photo upload?

  • @Tomas - hard to predict the future. Currently not possible.

  • @Casandra - yes, 10 photos at a time assuming they are not too large

  • Could someone make a bulk upload module? So that we can place the pictures on the server en select that specific location to automate the upload? It would be great!

  • That phototagging is so cool! :) works fine!

  • Can I use imagemagick see my config below?

I've tested the path /usr/bin/ and it reports back

    Version: ImageMagick 6.2.8 04/17/08 Q16 file:/usr/share/ImageMagick-6.2.8/doc/index.html Copyright: Copyright (C) 1999-2006 ImageMagick Studio LLC

However, when I try to upload images - doesn't work... no thumbnails nada... however the images are in my data dir.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • @elgg_noob - sorry, I don't know why it is not working. Will look into adding more diagnostics in the next version.

  • Hey no worries. GD is working like a champ and so my site continues to rock on. Thx to your great plugin.

I was trying to use ImageMagic because of the recommendation for better memory handling.

I'm curious to know why imagemagic is prefered over GD2 > sent PM to that regard.  Looking forward to hearing from you.

  • I upgraded to this version, followed upgrade directions, and now cannot see any of the previously added images. Only the linked word "thumbnail".

  • Is there any way to delete tags on photos? It could be usefull sometimes.

  • I would recommend one more change - to set the 'save' button while tagging to be on top of the list of people recommended to tag. Sometimes the list is very long and the save button disappears.

  • @elgg_noob - ImageMagic has better memory handling

  • @drweyant - should only happen if you didn't run the upgrade script. Check your entity subtypes table to make sure  the class for object - image is TidypicsImage.

  • @vazco - it currently does both things you asked about

  • I found the problem - I disabled simplepiegroupplugin & all is well!

    Thanks for your assistance:)

  • Hello

I have enabled this app.  My setting is set to GD.  I have uploaded a couple of photos, but all I see is a blank square with the word thumbnail.  I am using Elgg 1.5 and TidyPics 1.6.2

Does anybody have any idea what is wrong?  Do I have to configure a file location?

    Many Thanks

    Lee

  • Hey there Tidypics Team et all Tidypics users with Imagemagick cmdline configured and working, I would appreciate any assistance in helping me troubleshoot my Imagemagick situation.

I've confirmed that imagemagick is installed and working at /usr/bin/

my tidypics is setup for imagemagick cmdline and the path is set to /usr/bin/

I've run the tidy pics test and it confirms imagemagick is working.

However, when I upload photos - I get no thumbnail or image only the default ? pictures. Also, in the data dir the original uploaded photo is there but no generated thumbnails or resized images.

See previous post for server analysis data and imagemagick version.

Could someone please point me in the right direction? where should I look? What can I provide you to help me solve the challenge?

Also, Tidy pics used to allow you to click thru to the Original photo in all it's glory. How can I restore that functionality?

    Thank you.

If this is not the appropriate place to pose these types of questions please tell me where I should post.

Please feel free to PM me

  • Can anybody assist with my query?  I am using the GD setting and I I get are empty placeholders.

    Regards

    Lee
