Import contacts from web mails and other social networks v0.5
Release Notes
This module wraps the OpenInviter PHP library and provides a friendly interface for Elgg installations to add the import capability. I have exposed only a handful of supported plugins in the form since these were known to work at the time of implementation as well as were considered important. You can tweak the code to add more plugin support.
Feel free to report bugs or requests to me.

For version 0.5:
- Updated to latest OpenInviter plugins (facebook was broken)
For version 0.4:
- Added Twitter by renaming the twitter class to twitter_ex.
For version 0.3:
- Updated to the latest OpenInviter libraries
- Added sub-menu under the Friends using Two page layout (just like invitefriends)
NOTE: OpenInviter Requirements:
- Your server will need to have PHP5 installed with DOMDocument support and either cURL or WGET.

Great pluging.
However, the twitter login is not working. It's not accepting a full email login.

were i can do this changes. under tool administration there is no option to edit settings.so please help me to edit custom message and few more...small changes.

We are using your script for contact inportand and love it, well done to you - its amazing.
Our college piggybacks hotmail / live (outlook web access mail) as its mail system. Emails are still created with the college domain whoever@nuigalway.ie but the system uses hotmail. Is there anyway to edit yoru script to allow our students ti import their college email contacts? If so could you tell us how to do it? what to script / php file edit? where to edit etc?

Just tried this version out and it looks good. I see you took away the links from the menu and the only link I see to import contacts is now located in my friends menu.
I would hope that your next version/update will put the link to import contacts back on the menu and that there would be an easy way to add more networks etc...

Great plugin dude, i had some trouble implementing in my server but its ok now.
I solved my problems with OpenInviter "curl" option. Just edit config in OpenInviter folder and change to "wget".
Still a problem with orkut plugin, when i put my login the plugin brings to me all my contacts, but when i apply to import them give to me an default error of the plugin.
For future updates o sugest a way to link the import with the inviter profile.

Great plugin, only how do i find out what goes wrong, when i want to import from facebook it shows me all the names in my facebook test account (approx 15) and then when i say invite it is showing me a error: There were errors while sending your invites.

The plugin was working great for a while (thanks!) but today when I tried it out, I got this error message and I can't figure out why:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class twitter in /home/account/public_html/mod/contact_importer/OpenInviter/plugins/twitter.plg.php on line 158
Any ideas?

@Lawrence - Delete the twitter.plg.php ... I had redefined that one to get rid of the name clash.

Why all the invites go to spam folder?there is a method to avoid this? PLEASE SOME ONE?

Ive installed the plugin. It works fine to import the emails, But i have problems when i try to send the invitations. I get a message:; "There was a problem , try again" ( this is not the real message, i am working in spanish) , Any idea? Do i have to set something sepecial on php to be able to send the messages?

@Pharshant the facebook import works fine but not the send would you have an idea? Every other one like twitter and gmail sends fine.

Mine is elgg 1,6,1, it works for gmail and hotmail.
but can't importer the contacts in facebook, i don't know if i've entered the right data ou something else.
