Release 3.6b
In the previous release we added the support to monitor the actual ffmpeg process to be sure about if queue is running or not. But that was behaving different on different server configurations (dual core, cord core). Number of cores effect on the number of threads of ffmpeg and hence background processes. So that's why it was behaving differently on different flavor of servers. To over come this, we stop this monitoring and start to see the queue status via sqlite db. And i tested it alot here, and it's working perfectly and now we also restored windows support. WAMP is tested with this version.
Release 3.55b:
In the previous release, We got so man y queries regarding intense database load of background process. And even some shared hosting providers having ffmpeg support banned some accounts because of eating of lots of database resources by the background processes. Reason of this was obvious, Queue is working in background and we were saving all queue elements as elgg object in database. And used elgg framework, we all know. Database is the thing where we need to take it seriously. And more over izap_videos plugin need to be optimized according to the demanding feature in almost every social networking site. So we solved this by using Sqlite queue management. To see result you can just try http://elgg.izap.in
How do we planned stability in this version:
In this version we have removed complex video conversion preset command and use simple ffmpeg command "ffmpeg -y -i [inputfile] [outputfile]". I setup a testing lenny instance of a server. than simply install ffmpeg using lenny package manager. And setup elgg with izap_videos. And it was working perfectly there was not any issue. Please post your feedback. And if it works for you. than post your server environment and give us one recommendation. As we will reach to the recommendation of 20. We will change this beta release to stable one.
- You can control plugin setting either you want to keep original video file after conversion
- Sqlite implementation to cut down all background processing.
- More control in queue management.
- Implemented Trash, This will just put videos in trash having any issue. it could be ffmpeg supporting libraries. Admin can delete them or can restore them after fix.
- Cron implementation to re-trigger queue in case of sudden interruption in the queue. You can manage cron timing according to your need.
Upgrading from previous release:
- Backup your database and izap_videos folder.
- Disable izap_videos plugin from your admin panel.
- Download and unzip izap_videos version 3.5 and place it in mod directory.
- Re-enable this new izap_videos plugin from you admin panel.
- You may need to re-enable ON-SERVER support from setting tab of izap_videos plugin settings.
- Clear simple cache.
New installation:
- Download and unzip the plugin in your mod dir.
- Enable it from admin panel.
- Clear simple cache.
ONSERVER Prerequisites:
- PDO sqlite drivers must be installed. This release and all future release will support queue management using PDO sqlite.
- ffmpeg and all supporting libraries.
Optional Prerequisites:
- notifications p lugin
- crontrigger plugin
- messages plugin
Optional plugins will give you better control over izap_videos plugin. These optional plugins are only required for ONSERVER support. If you leave them, izap_videos will yet to work with its basic functionality.
Bug fixes:
- Access control of uploaded video.
- Cutdown elgg-db communications to save resources
- Delete video entity will also delete all related media.

Michal reloaded my site. I had to buy him a really good lunch in San Francisco to get him do it :).
All the comments make me sort of nervious to use the new upgraded version. You can almost give 10 Reasons not to upgrade. Does this work on ver. 1.7.4 ok ?

There were small issues. and they have been fixed in the current version of svn or available at pluginlotto. I didn't release on elgg community because i was looking for more feedback.
I am using this version on "http://pluginlotto.com" too. and even i upgraded from the previous version is izapvideos. Everything working fine.

Hi, I'm using Elgg 1.7.2, I've installed izap 3.81b (16 days ago). I can upload videos but when I try to add a URL video I get the Form is missing __token or __ts fields error.
Any ideas on why this could be happening?

update, sorry Im getting the same error when trying to upload a video. The server analysis is all ok. I've also tested disabling all the plugins and the error keeps showing.

Hi there!!
I installed izap_video and it works fine in my elgg version 7.4. After i embeded couple videos, I logged out and then when i try to log me back in I couldn't there was an error about php not to display the page. I finally fix it by removing the plugin out of its folder.
If you have any suggestion to fix this issue it will be very appreciated. I really would like to use this pluggin.

I have a question, as I can take away the widget with the latest videos on the homepage?
Nice plugin. I do have some issues with the thumbs. In the Latest Video Feed, an uploaded flv file creates a thumb of 120x90 which isn't being resized in this widget display. When you wou enter a youtube URL it works fine. I edited the addEdit.php and OFFSERVER.php file where it said to make thumbs of 120x90px but still no luck getting it to fit. Any ideas?

I just feel the UI of the video player needs some change!
Why is the "Loading" gif being displayed even when the video is actually being displayed!!
also I feel the volume control should b having features like youtube etc. basically the izap_video player needs better UI

i keep having a problem to upload videos to my site. i was told if i invest on dedicated server it will work. but still to no avail i have been told i need to install ffmpeg into my server but dont know how to do these some help pls

Anyone know how to have this plugin auto-generate a thumbnail for embeded vidoes like youtube does?
some simple questions which I am sure have already been answered but I couldn't find the answer...
For on Server Videos what file types can be uploaded. ie .avi .mp3 etc...
If a Video is not compatible or if the upload fails does the user get a error message? So that they know to make a change

There are open source routines than can achieve this auto-thumbnail creation, but such code will need to be retro-fitted into the logic of the iZap PlugIn. The effort might be mostly not trivial and will require reasonable technical expertise with PHP, GD, ImageMagick and kindred.
Bottom line -> it can be done. Flip-side -> there may be a rather high technIcal effort cost.
