How do we planned stability in this version
In this version we have removed complex video conversion preset command and use simple ffmpeg command "ffmpeg -y -i [inputfile] [outfile]". I setup a testing lenny instance of a server. than simply install ffmpeg using lenny package manager. And setup elgg with izap_videos. And it was working perfectly there was not any issue. Please post your feedback. And if it works for you. than post your server environment and give us one recommendation. As we will reach to the recommendation of 20. We will change this beta release to stable one.

Hey guys, which version of ffmpeg do you recommend? A lot of my videos are failing during conversion to flv using ffmpeg revision 22162 that came from http://ffmpeg.arrozcru.org/autobuilds/.
@Izap video conversion doesn´t work. The queue doesn´t run, it never begins to convert videos
Queue status: Not running (1)
What script will convert videos and run the queue if I set it in a cronjob?
Any idea about this problem?
If I upload an .swf to my server, why can't I simply add http://mysite.com/myVideo.swf to the "enter your video URL" field on the "add new video" page? It seems like this method of video hosting should be supported, but it doesn't work for me.
I've been wrestling with this for an entire day. I've not been able to successfully upload a single video yet.
Hi izap!
I love this plugin but it dosen't work with my elgg 1.7 :(
When I enable the plugin in admin page, the whole screen goes white and nothing happens.
I have to delete the plugin to get the elgg surface back.
It worked with 1.7b perfectly. Any idea?
THANKS!!
puffi
@Luckylucciano
Check the Server Analysis tab in the video settings page to see if you set it up correctly. If not, then fix your setup. If it is, then maybe your cron job hasn't started yet. You can set it to trigger more often in the Settings tab.
@mikejkelley
Check your settings again. And .swf isn't among the supported filetypes.
@All:
I do not get time to test it with the stable elgg 1.7 release. izap_videos was released earlier than this elgg 1.7 stable. I will see this and get back to you.
Thanks
I tested and all work stable in 1.7 for me ! Thanks !
@IZAP:
Thank you very much! I'm waiting for it :)
@izap: that was version: 1.5-1.0
Hi! I installed the plug-in, and it worked wonderfully until I went to Video Settings and allowed uploading to the website.
That killed my ability to get back into Video Settings, and I am also unable to delete videos. I can edit them, but not delete them. I'm taken to a dtabase error message.
I deleted the plug-in, did a fresh install, and still am not able to get into video settings. My error log reads:
[07-Mar-2010 03:24:03] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/ffmpeg.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/ffmpeg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
I'm not a coder so that's beyond me. :/

I have same eror in file log... Please help...
Hi, .swf is a typo, I meant .flv.
My issue is that my site hosting elgg doesn't allow for video streaming, but I have stuff on another server which does. If I upload the .flv there, why can't I "Enter (it as my) video URL" on the add videos page? I get an "please enter the valid URL" error message.
ie If I upload an .flv to my server, why can't I simply add http://mysite.com/myVideo.flv to the "enter your video URL" field on the "add new video" page? It seems natural, but it doesn't work for me.
@Humerox, Abrikos
Sounds like you need a copy of ffmpeg. http://ffmpeg.org/
@mikejkelley
I believe the plugin only supports youtube, veoh, and vimeo.
Hello,
I tested the command link below,
Copy this video to my videos.
and I received a system message/error
"Form is missing __token or __ts fields".
Is this a bug?
I am using Elgg v1.7 and Firefox v3.5.8
seems doesn't work with Youtube Playlist/URL (Permalink):
eg: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=89360D1EF2FC8333
is it?
@GMA
Backread on the first page of the comments. I had a similar problem and izap pointed out the cause there.
I think the same error message is displayed when ffmpeg fails to convert. (not sure though, maybe I was just seeing things. :P)
@Altealice
I read what you posted but yours was concerned about ONSERVER, but I'm not sure if it is still the same problem as I do not use/check the ONSERVER option in my iZap settings.
I also did increase the max upload limit settings on .htaccess but the error still occured.
Is there a minimum max upload limit for this thing to work?
:)
@Altealice, bcc: everyone
What do those sites add to the process? Why can't it simply retrieve video from any URL? Aren't all .flvs made the same? <- Not all rhetorical, I'm not sure of the answer.
@mikjkelley:
Actually each site could have different type of URL parameter corresponding to the videos. Right now we are supporting following sites:
We can fetch thumbs of youtube, vimeo and veoh because they are providing API to fetch corresponding metadata. But other we are supporting has so such API to use. So we did some scripting based on the parameters they are having in their URL's to fetch videos. It may help you to understand this issue.
@GMA:
Thanks to let us know. I just confirmed, this is a bug. We will fix it soon. Keep checking in the svn version if you need it sooner.
is it also a known bug that the queue will not start?
I can not get the queue to get past this:
Queue status: Not running (1)
thanks, otherwise, great work on this!
@iZap
You are welcome. I'm glad I've helped. :)
I'll continue tinkering with this plug-in and see what more errors will come up.
@iZap
I have ellg 1.6
I upgraded to izap 3.55b I'm also getting :
--------------------------------------------
Queue status: (Not running(1)
my_site_com_izap_videos_1268216295_EngineerTB02.mpg 1.45 MB
my_site_com_izap_videos_1268216295_EngineerTB02_c.flv 0 B
and on my server analysis simple error failed. with error:
Recommended action: Copy the success command and paste it in the "Video converting command" in admin settings.
Tested with avi format only.
----------------------------------------
I dont know where the "success command" is located.
and I also deleted the izap-quie-db in DATA folder. Please help.
Thanks.

@izap
This is really a great plugin. It works fine with elgg 1.7 release.
Besides the supported sites you listed, I want to add other sites. Could you please give me a rough guide? Thanks!
Best regards!
I'm using the newest izap_videos plugin with the elgg 1.7. The browser is Firefox 3.5.4, and the OS is Windows 7. When I delete a video, the Notepad++ poped up and the izap_convert_video.php was opened automaticly. Is this normal? Thanks!
