It works fine in 1.8.0.1. After upgrading I didn't get the Deppreciation warning message, which I got before.
But the details are not showing in a neat format in the "Friends Request". The profile icon menus items are displaying as plain text and not as menu items.
I am using the default 1.8 ELGG theme. I removed the plugin version 2.3.3 fully and upload 2.3 version.
To add more info, the above data display is for the "Sent Friend Requests" section.

Friend request plugin does not move in mobile plugin.
I want to use this plugin in mobile.
Do you have a solution?
Since this plugin seems to use the remove_submenu_item function (at least version 2.3 seems to), this plugin won't work on version 1.7.7 of elgg. This particular function was added for version 1.7.8.

please upgrade the plugin for 1.8
Any way to add notifications email for user, when his friend request get accepted.
In normal conditions, on decline of friend requset a notification email is generated.
and on acceptance of friend requaet notifcation is generated on river.
